Audio Networks
Getting Started
How It Works
In most cases, building a Pro64 network is as simple as selecting the I/O devices needed to meet the audio requirements of each location, adding network devices (for remote control of preamps, interfacing to Pro16 Personal Mixers and output modules, or integrating fiber optics), and connecting the devices in the most convenient and efficient manner. Individual devices can be configured from their front panels or from a PC using the Pro64 Network Manager.
The Pro64 Series includes audio I/O modules for mic- and line-level analog audio, AES3 digital audio, and a direct interface to Yamaha digital console and mix engines.
System Basics: Everything Everywhere Networking
Pro64's Auto Mode is designed to make audio networking simple and hassle-free. With the network set to Auto, devices can be connected in any order and in any combination of serial and parallel topologies. Regardless of the layout of the system or the physical location of inputs and outputs, the Pro64 network ensures that every audio channel inserted into the network stream is available for output throughout the system. There are no directional restrictions to manage.
Each audio channel is assigned an A-Net Slot, dedicated bandwidth in the network for that channel. Once a channel is activated into an A-Net Slot, it is protected and cannot be overwritten by another device.
