The DS16 is a 16x16 digital snake system ideal for smaller ensembles. It has 16 mic/line inputs and 16 line-level returns. All the gear fits in just 6U of rack space.
The DS16 system uses one AN-16/i-M Mic Input Module on the stage side that can accept up to 16 mic/line inputs. At front of house, those signals are output to the console via an AN-16/o v.4 Output Module. Returns are handled by an AN-16/i v.2 Input Module at FOH and a second AN-16/o v.4 on stage. All 32 channels are transmitted over a single Cat-5e cable.
Each input channel on the AN-16/i-M contains a three-segment level meter, a continuously variable gain knob, a phase reverse switch, 48-volt phantom power, and a rumble filter with an 85Hz rolloff. Built-in Thru connections act as a digital splitter to allow the mic input signals to be patched to other devices.
The 16 balanced outputs on the AN-16/o v.4 are provided via DB25 multipin connectors. The analog outputs can be set (per channel pair) to +24dBu, +18dBu, +4dBu, or mic level.
The DS16 is a simple digital snake that can easily be integrated with nearly any existing audio system. Because all Aviom solutions are modular, the system can be expanded at any time by connecting additional I/O modules.
