Live 8 Concerts Use Aviom Audio Distribution
Over 200,000 people attended the Live 8 concert held in Berlin, Germany on Saturday, July 2, 2005. The global Live 8 free concert event spanned four continents and ten cities, and was held to raise awareness of poverty issues in the African continent.
The Berlin event was held in Tiergarten Park, a historic area that includes the Brandenburg Gate and famous Siegessäule monument. Performers at the Berlin concert included Roxy Music, Audioslave, A-Ha, Faithless, Green Day and Brian Wilson.

Sonic Sound Tour & Production GmbH based in Kassel, Germany was the sound company in charge of the audio system design and installation. They specified Aviom digital snake products as the audio distribution system to the amplifiers and delay towers for the entire event. According to Sonic Sound's CEO and head of sound Heiko Breidenbach, "The ease of cabling a very large PA return system like this with Aviom products was great. Everyone was impressed with the clear sound of the system."
The massive audio system spanned 1100 meters through the expanse of Tiergarten Park, and included numerous audio delay towers and both stereo and mono audio signals. The system included three AN-16/i Input Modules, three AN-16/o Output Modules, eight A-16R Personal Mixers, two A-16D Pro A-Net Distributors used as digital signal repeaters and plenty of Cat-5 cable.
