Staff engineer Andres Arango at ATK Audiotek describes his experience with Aviom for American Idol as “just the beginning. SIA Acoustics recently worked with the Madison Square Park Conservancy to produce the park’s free weekly Summer Concert Series. Meyer’s M’elodie self-powered loudspeakers sat on an Aviom Pro64 digital network, including 6416dio Digital I/O Modules and a 6416Y2 Interface Card in the Yamaha DM1000 console, which SIA used to send feeds around the park. The network aspect was a big part of it, as they ran power and Cat-5 between all the traditional locations, and the Aviom network handled audio in both directions.

The system features a Pro16 personal mixing system for the praise team, tied to a Yamaha M7CL-48 digital mixing console via an Aviom 48x16 digital snake and Y1 Card. 48 channels of audio are then split from the Aviom digital snake and delivered to a ProTools studio for recording to disk.
