Flexible Design
D. L. Adams Associates, Inc., consultant Ed Logsdon designed a Pro64 system for Mile Hi Church in Denver that allowed him to maximize the flexibility in routing audio channels from the Yamaha console, while eliminating the need for physical 
patching of signals. He chose Pro64 for its audio quality, future scalability, plug-and-play simplicity, and compatibility with Aviom’s Pro16 monitor mixing solution.
The 48x48 Pro64 digital snake between stage and front of house at Mile Hi includes three 6416m Mic Input Modules on stage that can be controlled remotely from FOH using the RCI Remote Control Interface and MCS Mic Control Surface. Forty-eight channels of mic inputs on stage are connected to three daisy-chained 6416m Mic Input Modules. All 48 channels are transported via A-Net using a single Cat-5e cable to FOH, where three 6416Y2 A-Net Interface Cards are installed in the Yamaha console for main and monitor returns.
Sixteen channels of Pro64 A-Net are sent to stage on the same Cat-5e cable to an ASI A-Net Systems Interface to provide Pro16 A-Net for the church’s existing A-16II Personal Mixers. The church has the ability to expand its FOH-to-stage sends to up to 48 channels from the console for future use. At FOH, an optional 6416i Input Module is available for adding analog channels to the network from a CD player or wireless mics.
Easy to Expand
The system offers a great deal of opportunity for future expansion. For instance, all 48 channels from the console will be able to go directly into a recording console, when the church adds one, using the 6416Y2 cards. The ASI on the stage supports expansion of the monitor mixing system to include additional zones. The church is already making plans to add more Personal Mixers to its setup.
